How to audition… FOUR STEPS

           ONE: Communicate 

• What do they have to do?  
• What is required or expected?
• Leave the door wide open at first…. 
• 
  
• TWO: Enroll 
• See enrollment form
• Could be an online form
• Could be in bulletin
•  
• THREE: Audition day
• Team auditions, individual, one-on-one?
• Video auditions 
• Bring in your A players, top team members to help on each instrument
• FOUR: Decide and tell 
• What method to use?   Call…. Talk…. 
• How to say NO - have a plan ahead of time
• What to do when you say no…. offer training or other opportunity
• Put the burden of learning on them... they have to take lessons.... and grow to be on the team
• Offer music mentors... let them shadow rehearsal
